Sea of Thieves’ The Hungering Deep Update Releases in May, Weekly Events Coming
Rare’s Sea of Thieves may have a content drought, especially at launch, but it will be receiving new updates in the coming months to fix that. The first update is The Hungering Deep which is out in May. There will be a new enemy that must be discovered and beaten, which contributes to its own event. New mechanics and new rewards have also been promised.
More updates are on the way. There will be five more content updates in 2018 with two more updates – Cursed Sails and Forsaken Shores – in the Summer. A new ship, new map section, enemies, mechanics and rewards will be arriving with these updates. The remaining three updates will be out before 2018 end. Weekly events will also be coming with different mechanics and goals to fulfill.
It should be noted that some aspects like Captaincy are on the wayside for now with Rare focusing on other areas in the coming months. To learn more about what’s coming, check out the developer update video. Remember – all of these updates will be free.
